Begin Where You Are

& Healing Will Follow.

Hi, I’m Kemper Gottshall.

You do not have to have everything figured out to start. This is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and begin listening to what your mind and body have been trying to tell you. Together, we will move with curiosity and care toward what needs attention, creating space for healing and a steadier sense of self.

My Approach

Supportive

In our work together, I draw from approaches like Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, and mindfulness. These ways of working help us understand the different parts of you that hold pain, fear, or strength, and how they try to protect you. We also explore how your early relationships shaped the way you connect with others and yourself today. Using tools such as meditation and guided imagery, we build awareness of your inner world and deepen your ability to notice and care for what arises. Through this process, we begin to soften old patterns, heal emotional wounds, and strengthen your capacity to feel grounded, connected, and at peace.

Collaborative

I bring a collaborative and engaging presence in my work with you. My approach integrates several therapeutic methods to help you develop awareness, become more present, and begin looking at what has been causing pain from a place of safety and self compassion. Together, we will explore the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck while strengthening the parts of you that already know how to heal.

About Me

A smiling man with a beard and a dog sitting outdoors on a sunny day with trees and mountain in the background.
A person standing at the base of a massive, hollowed-out redwood tree in a forest, with sunlight filtering through green leaves overhead.
A black and white dog with a pink towel on its back, smiling with its tongue out, resting on someone's leg. In the background, a woman is visible through a window, talking or looking down, indoors at night.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2015, supporting individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and believe deeply in the power of collaborative talk therapy to create meaningful, lasting change.

As a cisgender white male, I stay mindful of the privilege I hold and work to create a space that feels safe, equal, and empowering for every client. My background in filmmaking and yoga continues to shape how I listen with curiosity, presence, and care. Outside of therapy, I practice a life of simplicity; hiking with my wife and our dog Milo, practicing yoga, meditating, and woodworking.
